Welcome to Boonville Parks and Rec! Boonville currently has 12 Parks ranging in size from 70 acres to .25 acres. The Parks and Recreation Department is also responsible for two cemeteries and the majority of all City buildings and grounds. Complete park descriptions are available in the download center.
Boonville Tennis
Boonville Parks and Recreation has partnered with the Unites States Tennis Association to promote and develop tennis programs in the area. QuickStart Tennis started in January and summer registration for the program is now open. QuickStart sessions for children 14 and under will be Tuesday nights 6:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday mornings 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the high school tennis courts. The Boonville Tennis website also details the upcoming Junior Tennis Team program- an exciting opportunity for competitive tennis in Boonville.
Quick Start Tennis is a new play format for kids ages 10 and under. The game has been “brought down to size” for those children playing. Racquets, balls, court size and scoring have all been modified to suit the age of the child. The Quick Start program uses smaller racquets and foam or low compression balls to play on scaled down courts. Shelter House Reservation Procedures
The Parks and Recreation Department allows advanced reservations of Shelter Houses in Harley, Lion’s and Rolling Hills Parks on a yearly basis. The Department begins to take reservations for Shelter Houses on February 1st or the next business day, for that calendar year only. Year to year standing reservations are not allowed.
By Ordinance, all parties who reserve a Shelter House must apply for and sign a permit and pay a $15.00 reservation fee. This is normally done in person, but may be done by mail for persons living outside the Boonville area.
The master reservation book and permits are maintained at City Hall, 525 E. Spring St. Reservations may be made between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Telephone inquiries are welcome however; telephone reservations will not be made. The telephone number at City Hall is 660-882-2332.
In accordance with the City’s Open Container Ordinance, alcoholic beverages (beer and wine) are allowed in Shelter Houses and within a 25 feet radius of the shelter in Harley and Lion’s Parks only. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in other areas of the City’s Parks unless approved for special events at Rolling Hills and Frederick T. Kemper Parks only. Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on any athletic field is strictly prohibited.
Persons holding shelter house reservation permits are encouraged to have the permit available on the day of the reservation. If a problem arises concerning the reservation, or facilities, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 660-882-7447, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All other times please call Boonville Police Department at 660-882-2727 and they will contact the appropriate personnel.
Tree Grant Program
The City of Boonville has implemented a Tree Grant Program that will make selected trees available to City property owners. The trees must be planted on City Rights of Way and other public property. The purpose is to replace Street Trees that have been removed as part of our Street Tree Program, or have been lost due to age or storm damage.
These trees will be made available on an annual basis at no charge to the property owner. The City will provide a tree to the property owner that is appropriate for the planting site based upon certain criteria such as width of the tree lawn or overhead obstructions such as power lines. The City will make the trees available on a first come first served basis. Species of trees will vary from year to year depending on availability.
To apply for a tree(s), the property owner must fill out a Tree Grant Application and return it to the Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks and Recreation Dept. will process the application, inspect the site and determine which tree(s) is appropriate for the location. Once the application has been approved, the property owner will be notified and arrangements made for pickup or planting if the property owner is unable to plant the tree.
The applications are available in the download center or may be picked up at City Hall, 525 E. Spring, City Services Building, 1200 Locust St; or the Parks and Recreation Department, 1221 Eleventh St.

Boonville Public Swimming Pool

Due to the construction of the new pool, the 2010 season will be shortened. The pool will be open from May 22, 2010 through July 18, 2010. The Municipal Swimming Pool is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Swimming lessons are offered throughout the season, click on the download center icon to download a swimming lesson registration form.
Daily admission rates are: $2.25 a day for ages 11 and under
$3.25 a day for ages 12 and up

Season Passes: $70.00 for a Family
$50.00 for Individual
Punch Cards: $29.25 for adults
$20.25 for Children
Punch cards are good for ten (10) swims at the price of nine (9)
Commercial Passes: Commercial passes are available for Daycares. The prices range by the size of the facility.
Small 1-5 $125.00
Medium 6-10 $150.00
Large 11 – up $175.00
Pool Parties: Pool parties may be scheduled by contacting the pool directly at 882-4019, or City Hall at 882-2332. The cost to book pool parties is $75.00 plus a minimum of 2 guards at $10.00 per hour. For groups over 40, an additional Guard is required for every 15 swimmers. Pool parties are allowed after normal hours from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
