The Visitor's survey asked individuals living outside of Boonville their attitudes, perceptions, and feelings about downtown Boonville, more specifically about retail and shopping options, getting around Boonville, the built and green environment, and missing elements in downtown. Generally, respondents felt Boonville needed more special events, concerts/ live music, and family restaurants. Additionally, visitors believed improved building conditions would enhance the downtown.
Organizational Review
After looking into the groups involved in downtown revitalization in Boonville, the need for a group focusing only on the downtown was identified. This group could help with business recruitment and expansion in the downtown, special events, and downtown beautification projects, including facade and streetscape improvements. For this group to be successful, the downtown group will need dedicated Board, strong leadership, and sustainable funding.
